Slimline Christmas Card
These are the instructions for a rather popular Slimline type card. I searched but couldn't find instructions for a Gift card holder Slimline, so I created this one. You'll find in my instructions how to create one of your own, for obvious reasons I don't include things like cutter or adhesives, I'm assuming if you sought out a blog you have these things.
What you'll need: 12x12 card stock
8.5x11 card stock, contrasting
stamp of your choosing (pictured here is
I used Copic Markers to color my image, but any markers or colored pencils will do)
embellishments of your choosing (I used
Circle cutting punch, I used 1"
Base measurements: 9 3/4 X 9 on 9 3/4 side score at 7 inches, fold, using bone folder to burnish. Make a tick at where your card fold hits on long side should be right at 3 1/5, make a tick at 7". Cut from tick to 5" on the left side, turn card and cut from the 5" mark to the end of paper. Score the box now. Your card should look like the picture below. Now, on the part sticking out from the card, take your circl punch and find the middle, as pictured, and punch! I apologize my OCD friends, we're simply eyeballing it! OK, now, take your bone folder and fold/burnish your gift card slot. After you burnish, use something like Tearn' Tape, or strong adhesive I prefer not to use glue myself, but it's a personal preferance, and tape your card holding box down.
At this point you're ready to embellish! I'm going to put in my photos here. I chose to use a dark blue base, not the pink. However the pictures are of the pink base... sorry about that!
